The last wedding before Christmas and what a belter it was too! Fresh snow on the ground caused a few anxious moments in the morning …but hey, what’s a wedding without a few anxious moments. The snow added to the Russian theme of the day with plenty of fantastic fur hats and coats. David and Lara were an absolute joy to be a Cambridge wedding photographer for – I’d met David when I photographed his brother’s wedding, John & Ellie, and where David gave one of the funniest best man speeches I’ve heard at a wedding. So there was absolutely no pressure on John taking on the best man role this time round …and his ushers very kindly didn’t constantly remind him of that. He had nothing to worry about, it was a great speech and brought the house down.
Congratulations to the new Mr&Mrs Lightbody – here are a few of my favourite images from the day and you can see the full gallery by clicking this link | Cambridge Wedding Photographer

There’s the odd clue that Lara got ready in her mother’s rooms at college

A Canadian in a kilt in a college at Cambridge. Crikey.

The college rang out to sounds of the Cambridge Bagpiper Roy Sloane to welcome the guests and it was an incredibly atmospheric sound echoing around the court. A very civilised pre-ceremony mince pie and mulled wine.

With a break from tradition, David and Lara see each other before the ceremony and walk down the aisle together. Such a lovely moment and I hope more couples do it.

Obligatory fur hats and coats for this Russian theme.
