Christs College wedding photography of Emma and James

Unexpectedly fine weather for the Christs College wedding photography of Emma and James. The week before the country had been battered with howling gales, things weren’t looking promising. Thankfully though the weather calmed down and we even had some glorious winter sunshine. Great to be back at Christ’s College, such a beautiful venue for a wedding. Also great to be at a wedding with so much significance for Emma and James as this is where they first met back when they were undergraduates. Emma looked absolutely stunning – if there was any doubt she would look anything less. James looked devilishly handsome in his full white tie and tales but couldn’t really compete with Emma’s extraordinary shoes. The Louboutins were quite something to behold, all of them, even the cake topper and vodka luge Louboutin! There was such a great energy on the day, so many friends coming back to college made for a very familiar feel and plenty of Guinness welcomed everyone else in. That vodka luge also helped towards some impressive dancing later in the evening. Emma and James’s dance routine was out and out the best routine I’ve seen put together as a first dance, well if you’re going to do it, throw yourself into to completely!

Christ’s College wedding | Just One

All week long, howling gales have been hitting the UK so the weather wasn’t looking promising for Emma and James’s Christs College wedding this weekend. But it really was the quiet after the storm as we had picture perfect skies and a warm and rain-free day. I had packed the car in full expectation of having to battle fierce wind and storms but thankfully it wasn’t needed. The word of the day? Well, it had to be ‘shoes’ and specifically Louboutins! So it’s probably a travesty that this shot is not of the incredible shoes themselves (that’s the main Louboutins, not the second pair for the car …) They actually deserve a little post all of their own. Here’s a shot of Emma from the start of the day on the roof terrace of The Varsity Hotel showing incredible grace and poise at the awkward moment another bride came up on to the terrace to have her photographs taken – obviously nowhere near as glamourous or beautiful as Emma. More images to follow soon.

There are some famous alumni from Christs College, Cambridge, from Darwin andMilton to Richard Whitely and Sascha Baron-Cohen and of course, Kate and Simon. It’s always a joy to photograph in such beautiful surroundings but more so when it has such importance to both Kate and Simon. Here are a few of my favourites from the day and you can see the rest in the gallery by clicking here – Christ’s College Wedding Photography.
