What a fantastic day the Gosfield Hall wedding of Sharyn and Mark was – I don’t think I’ve laughed so much at a wedding for a very long time. In a good way, that is! The whole day was incredibly relaxed: lovely summer’s sunshine, superbly well organised wedding and just lots of fun. Sharyn was determined not to be the centre of attention, which was okay as I think a couple of her younger bridesmaids were happy to take on that role. I’ll say nothing more than that. Good to see a piper greeting the guests as they arrived before the wedding ceremony in what has to the longest room to walk down as a bride – very impressive but I’m sure it’s nerve racking! If it was, no nerves showed for Sharyn and Mark, they both loved the day, start to finish. Well, there was a moment during the best man’s speech where I think Mark’s credibility wavered a little when the best man unveiled (in spectacular fashion) Mark’s white suit from his nights out as a younger man. No doubt it was something that first attracted Sharyn to him and proof of her superb sense of humour! Here are a few of my favourite images from the day.
As Sharyn and Marks’ Gosfield Hall wedding photographer my brief was simple – I was given instructions from Sharyn to take as many pictures of everything and everyone else except the bride. Now, I know I’m a bloke and a little slow on the up-take when a lady says something to me but I couldn’t help but feel there was a little hesitation on behalf of Sharyn about having her photo taken. But that is just a guess, mind you, I could be wrong. Just to be safe though, I took Sharyn and Mark out for their photos later on in the day just as the sun was setting and the light had that stunning golden quality it always seems to have at Gosfield Hall. It was also after the meal and perhaps a glass of champagne had been drunk making things a lot more relaxed! Sharyn and Mark were a fantastic couple to work with, great sense of humour, making the day an absolute joy. Here is one of my favourite images from the day with plenty more to follow.
Unusually a Monday Gosfield Hall wedding for me of Chloe and Franco. They were married at the magnificent and beautiful church at Lavenham, impressive on most days but more so in the glorious summer sunshine (well planned on the weather front guys!) Chloe and Franco had their three daughters as bridesmaids and their son stood in to the best man’s speech – pretty impressive seeing as he had less than five minutes notice and is 12yrs old. They were amongst some of the fantastic kids that were there on the day (so apologies if I got a little carried away taking photos of them all!) With Franco’s family from Scilly, there was a great Suffolk/Scillian influence. Here are a few of my favourite images and you can see the full gallery by clicking this link | Gosfield Hall wedding
Just one from the Gosfield Hall wedding of Chloe and Franco
was planning to put together a selection of favourite images from 2011 and although there are some stunning images to show off (he said ever so modestly!) a few images from each wedding stuck out as real hidden gems that haven’t had much of a showing. These images just stood out from the obvious, some made me laugh out loud, others brought back happy memories of some great couples, touching moments that were very fleeting and others that are just mighty fine pics!
The weather forecast was bleak – however good Gosfield Hall wedding photography is, -8oC and slushy snow was not going to be ideal. But for the first time in quite a few weeks, the sun came out, the day warmed up and the weather was near perfect for an early winters day. Wendy and Clark had planned that particularly well! The wedding theme was Scottish the men of the Morrison clan where in kilts and guests were pipped in by a fantastic bag piper for the day (I think Clark may also have had a wee nip of Scotch before the wedding to keep the cold out and to keep up with his Scottish heritage …) So many highlights from the day form such a fantastic couple but my favourite was singing the 12 Days of Christmas before the meal! Gosfield Hall weddings. If this weekend’s wedding had been a a week before, it would have been very, very cold,  probably knee deep in snow (the grey slushy stuff not the fun, fluffy white stuff!) and we would have stayed indoors all day. But what a difference a week makes and we had near perfect winter weather for Wendy and Clark’s wedding photography at Gosfield Hall. Here’s a couple of my favourite images from the day – with more to follow later in the week.
Claire and Scott were married at Gosfield Hall, Essex. Gosfield Hall wedding photography is a real pleasure, fantastic venue, big spaces for everyone to get ready in and to enjoy the day but more so when you’ve got a great crowd of family and friends determined to enjoy the day! No details were left out, from the Chas ‘n Dave seating plan to the flip flops for the ladies so they didn’t have to have to ruin their high heels.
