My last wedding of the year was a Notley Abbey wedding with Lucy and John – and always great to go out with a bang. Beautiful autumnal day, low lying golden sunshine and the trees in glorious browns. Lucy and John were a great couple to work with, charming, great sense of humour (well, I hope so and that they weren’t just being polite with my jokes …) and their wedding day was a lot of fun to be at. Notley Abbey is a stunning venue to photograph at all year round, day and night and I am always amazed at how efficient yet completely unnoticed the staff are. Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Beirne! Here are a few of my favourite images and you can see the full gallery by clicking this link | Notley Abbey weddings

At 4pm on the day before, I wan’t expecting this kind of sky for Jon and George’s wedding at Weston Park. To be honest, I was unpacking the heavy duty rain gear and battening down the hatches getting ready for a pretty blustery and wet day as the rain was teaming down. What a difference a day makes, grey start but a glorious finale to a fantastic day. But being a Weston Park wedding photographer, the weather really isn’t too much of an issue, stunning surroundings and beautiful house to photograph in. Here is just one from the day – a big thank you to Jon and George for being such a great couple to photograph. Many congratulations and plenty more to come.

Smeetham Hall Barn wedding of Liz and Mark

Two nicer people you could not hope to meet. Liz and Mark made their mark on their Smeetham Hall Barn wedding, putting a huge amount of effort into planning and into every detail. The barn looked stunning with a vintage wedding feel. The weather kept us on our toes a little during the day, a few anxious looks out of the window during the morning, a few drops of rain as Liz turned up to the church but then glorious sunshine for the afternoon, perfect! The sunshine giving the day that golden autumnal feel. I was impressed when I spoke to Liz and Mark the day before the wedding that the timings and logistics of the day didn’t stop when the music stopped – that there was a 4.30am wake up call for the Wales vs Samoa game in the rugby world cup. Let’s hope for Mark’s marriage that he didn’t invite the lads round to watch the game.

Ingatestone Hall wedding photography of Debs and Steve

It’s not often that you turn up to a brides house in the morning and see a Dalek guarding the bouquets of flowers. But this was the case of Debs and Steve’s Ingatestone Hall wedding photography – mental note, don’t mess with the Dalek! It was always going to be an exceptional wedding, a wedding with a difference. I was checking my iPhone weather app to see what we could expect for the day ahead (usually pretty reliable) when Debs showed me her iPhone weather app – being a hot air balloon pilot, this app had all the gizmos and gadgets, every graph and list of figures you could possibly need for weather on the ground all the way up to 10,000 feet. It made my ‘sun with a smiley face’ app look a little ordinary. Just to let you know that the Dalek featured throughout the day, popping his head up (do Daleks have heads? Turrets? Anyhoo …) throughout proceedings but apparently not as much as later with the best man – but I’m told that’s another story you’ll have to ask him about, something to do with a camera and the gents loo. But I digress. Talking of cameras, I felt seriously out-gunned by everyone else on the day, I think our Dalek friend was the only one without a camera.

A great sign of a couple’s chemistry is when you first meet them before the ceremony and think, they seem a little anxious but you very quickly realise that it’s not nerves, it’s genuine excitement for the day ahead. This was very much the case for Deb and Steve, both were really just trying to contain their happiness at it all. After a beautiful church ceremony, we were off to the stunning Ingatestone Hall wedding venue, steeped in history and a beautiful and ancient backdrop for the wedding celebrations. We were determined to get outside and make the most of the venue for some couple shots but the rain was against us. We persevered and eventually the weather gods smiled on us – no iPhone app to save us though! Woodhall Manor wedding photography of Lucy & Steve

I started the weekend with the Woodhall Manor wedding photography of Lucy & Steve. Woodhall Manor is always a stunning venue to photograph at; today the leaves were just turning golden but the weather was still warm, early autumn giving everything a warm glow. The whole day was incredibly well organised by Lucy, no detail left untouched, and as always superbly managed by Faye at Woodhall Manor, can’t recommend her skills highly enough! The wedding ceremony itself was held outdoors which made for a long aisle for Lucy to walk down …and long anxious few moments for Steve.

Congratulations to Lucy and Steve! Here are a few of my favourite images from the day and if you want to see the full gallery I recommend you click this link | Woodhall Manor weddings

Suffolk wedding photographer of Holly & Mark

A huge blog post from Holly and Mark’s fantastic wedding in Clare, Suffolk. Lots of favourites to choose from, so sit back, put the kettle on and make yourself comfortable whilst all the images load. An incredible day from an incredible couple. The most important things in Holly’s life are family, friends, shoes and now Mark (I’m not sure what order I’d put all those in …) and that combination made for a superb wedding day. Helped along by a glorious sunny day and the occasional glass of fizz, this made for a very relaxed and enjoyable day for all. The wedding ceremony was in the local church, a short walk from Holly’s family home where the reception was held. Many congratulations to them both – here are a few (quite a few) of my favourites from the day and you can see the full gallery by clicking this link | Suffolk wedding photographer

Just one from Lucy and Steve’s Woodhall Manor wedding. First wedding of the year where it felt a little autumnal, leaves starting to turn, bit of a breeze which is perfect for Woodhall Manor – we even had a little bit of late afternoon golden sunshine. Lucy had done an incredible job of organising the details of the day (more than ably assisted by the lovely and efficient Faye from Woodhall Manor), the day was brilliantly relaxed. The only moment that was any different was when Lucy walked down the aisle in their outdoor ceremony, I think I saw Steve’s lower lip wobble a bit! Here’s one of my favourite shots from the day, an adoring Steve and a very happy Lucy – congratulations to you both and more images to follow soon!

Holly and Mark’s wedding was a sublime day. A prefect day for Suffolk wedding photography and just the right combination of all the right ingredients to make the day so very special. Holly’s families warmth and generosity shone through hosting the wedding and the couple’s chemistry together was just tangible. So many favourites to choose from the day but here’s one that stood out – more to follow. Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Lawrence!
