Durham Castle wedding photography of Laura and Simon

Off to Durham this weekend for the wedding of Laura and Simon. Familiar territory for Laura as she was at university here which means it was a trip down memory lane for a lot of the guests (which opened the betting on what state they will end up at the end of the night, living old memories!) Laura looked flawlessly beautiful and was graceful through out the day, although the start of the day there were a few early nerves. No such nerves for Simon, calm and confident, quintessential army officer – I think the only moment the cool, calmness looked like faltering was when the guests got handed a photo from the stag party … and I think the less we say, the better (except possibly nice gloves …)! One of the great joys of being a wedding photographer is seeing familiar faces at weddings and none more so than Simon’s brother whose wedding I photographed a while back – Vicky and Ian were there with their latest addition to their family. A good military presence at a wedding is a useful thing – organisational skills, loud voice for rounding up guests and always first one on the dance floor, last to leave.
