County Kerry wedding photography of Fiona & Jonathan

County Kerry wedding photography. When I was getting off the plane at Kerry airport, I had to keep reminding myself that I was in Southern Ireland. Ireland and not a Mediterranean holiday hot spot. The sunshine was blistering – apparently it’s not like this every day in Ireland. I had expected this to be the wettest wedding of the year but it seems that we had all this year’s sunshine in one day. I thought it was absolutely glorious. Ard na Sidhe Country House is an idyllic retreat beautifully situated on the shores of Caragh Lake, Killorglin with incredible gardens full of secret pathways and extravagant plants. It’s a very special spot for so many reasons for Fiona and Jonathan. More so as it meant that they could get married in the same church as her parents in Dingle and Fiona’s mum’s house is just across the street from the church.

Also across the street is Dick Macks historic pub and the starting point for the wedding day. After the ceremony we had a drive through stunning countryside to Ard na Sidhe via Minard Castle for a few photos. The castle and beach would normally be deserted but today it was full of sunbathers. The day flew by. Smaller wedding like this where so many guests have made a big effort to be there always makes for a more intense day. And I felt it was none more so than during the speeches. No hay fever excuses today, it really was an emotional day. A highlight for me was walking around the small headland at sunset with Fiona and Jonathan, Just incredible, I could have photographed there all day (and a few more days as well!) but the midgies and the light got the better of us.

Evening entertainment was provided by the superb Roly & Roman who kept the party going well into the early hours. Sadly for us on the mainland, they are Irish based as they are one of the best wedding bands I’ve seen.
