Bailiffscourt wedding photographer. It was a chilly late winter’s day at Bailiffscourt Hotel, Climping for Lucy & Paul’s wedding. But the warmth of the welcome from this lovely couple for what was a sublime wedding day certainly made up for the weather. Serious and ernest in their day jobs, these two were full of mischievous charm that filtered through the day. The blessing in the chapel was delivered in the same heartfelt and sincere manner but with a few cheeky comments to brighten the day.

Bailiffscourt is an exceptional Sussex wedding venue. If you haven’t been there before, you are in for a treat. Steeped in history, the hotel itself didn’t exist until 1923 when it was designed and built to reflect a medieval manor house. It has a few much older buildings on site, the 13th century chapel where the blessing took place amongst them. The house itself wraps you up in that intimate wood panelled, low ceiling and open fire placed rooms, perfect for this weather. Settling in to giant comfy sofas to catch up with old friends.

The day started with Lucy in one of the large rooms with a four poster, large sofa and bathroom with a double bath. Cue an opportunity for a photo of the bride and bridesmaid in the bath! Paul was suited and booted when I saw him, a little anxious but more excited than nervous. The civil ceremony was held in one of the large downstairs living rooms before heading over to the chapel for the blessing. Heading back to the house, there was an optimistic keenness to stay outside but the draw of the warmth pulled everyone back inside. Cozy and intimate wedding reception was followed by the meal and enlightening speeches – I love the speeches! Whilst a few settled in to an evening of chatting on one of the many sofas, the rest hit the dancefloor. Bailiffscourt Hotel wedding venue is a fantastic spot for an intimate winters wedding. I suspect it would be equally lovely on a summers day!
