Essex marquee wedding. Heading away from Ipswich, I didn’t expect to find a hot bed of diehard Ipswich Town FC supporters. But Liz and her family have been regulars at Portman Road for as long as she can remember. I knew straight away that this was going to be a down to earth, blast of a wedding. Everything was immaculately well organised, nothing was out of place. It was all warming up to be an incredible day with a huge party to round it off.

The day started out at the house with the bridal preparations. Then it was a short walk to the church for the wedding ceremony. Liz made the most of the Rolls Royce on the way to the church; as the weather was good enough, Liz and Bennett led the guests back up the road to the house. The marquee was set just behind the house in one of the most immaculate paddocks. Guests made the most of champagne and canapés before heading into the marquee for the meal and speeches.

Wedding party speeches

Speeches were promising to be entertaining and they didn’t disappoint. Liz’s father delivered a superb, well-pitched (if a little awkward for Liz) father of the bride speech. Bennett brought dry Kiwi wit to the day. The big surprise was a lot of guests who couldn’t make it, showing speeches on the big screen. Not a dry eye in the house.

Essex wedding party

A beautiful summer’s evening meant that guests could sit outside the marquee and make the most of the warm night. But the real party was indoors, showing off their air guitar skills. And there were some pretty impressive air guitaring going on. Essex marquee wedding.
