Field sports photographer | Aberdeenshire

Field sports photographer. I was invited up to Kinloch, Aberdeenshire to photograph the shooting weekend on the farm at Kinloch Estate. I was a little apprehensive about the weather forecast as it looked grim – January in the North East of Scotland was always going to be cold and possibly very wet. But the area has it’s own microclimate which created three of the most stunning days of crisp, clear and mainly sunny weather. Clear, unpolluted skies with plenty of sunshine was perfect for me but I’m not so sure how good it was for the guns as the tally was lower than predicted. Let’s blame the weather …rather than that large box of assorted beers that was kicking around the night before! A very big thank you to my hosts, Gavin and Marlene, whose hospitality was humbling with it’s generosity and kindness. I hope this record of the weekend goes, in some way, to repaying it.
