(And with lines like that, it is a mystery to me why I was ever single …) Beautifully hot and sunny day for this Ravens Ait wedding, a spectacular wedding venue on an island in the Thames. This wedding was always going to be a little special with so much enthusiasm and effort having gone into the planning. Also so many little individual touches that made this truly Claire and Ed’s day.

One of the special treats about getting married on Ravens Ait is that the bride and groom are whisked away for a boat trip down the Thames in an Edwardian launch. ‘Launch’ being a boaty term for …well …’boat’). Glass of champagne, waving at the passers-by, letting that newly married feeling settle in – very romantic indeed. Quick last spin around the island and then back to party with the guests. Drinks on the lawns at the far end of the island where you can watch the boats sail by. Then into the boat house for the meal and speeches.

There was never going to be any grey areas about the party as well – this was always going to be loud, large and a lot of fun! The wedding was so good that Claire and Ed decided to do it again back in Ed’s home country of New Zealand. Ravens Ait wedding Photos.
