Wedding reception and celebrations at Bruisyard Hall

Bruisyard Hall wedding photos

Bruisyard Hall wedding photos. Laura and Andrew were married in an intimate service at St Mary the Virgin, Mendlesham. The congregation was made up of invited wedding guests, family and parishioners from Mendlesham who the couple worship with regularly. A quiet, solemn and private occasion underlying the importance of the marriage ceremony itself for these two.

Then it was a bit of a drive to Bruisyard Hall for the wedding reception but well worth the journey. Bruisyard Hall is a stunning medieval hall steeped in history and surrounded by beautiful Suffolk countryside with the reception itself held in the adjacent newly refurbished Bruisyard Barn.

A typically English tea party with cake and sandwiches was laid on with help and contributions from all. The flowers were simple, delicate and elegant wildflowers. All of which made for a very relaxing and charmed afternoon. We even had a brief appearance from the sun towards the end of the day, brief but always welcome! And when the sun appears, it’s always best to make the most of it with a few photos.

I love the warming chatter of the barn when guests sit down for the wedding breakfast. Everyone settling into the occasion, catching up with old friends and making new ones. It meant also that the speeches received the warmest of receptions, pretty emotional at several points.

Andrew had made the most of his theatre connections and had managed to borrow some impressive stage lights for the main barn and the evening party. I’m a sucker for professional lighting at a wedding, it can make such a huge difference to the look of a party.
