When I was asked to photograph Tsumi and Rich’s wedding in Aberdeen, I spoke to the bride who recommended me and she said “yes, the big pink castle”. Oh, okay. Not sure if it was a wind up or not, I smiled politely and waited. Glorious summer sunshine greeted me at Aberdeen airport, I wasn’t expecting that. And although I was half expecting a big pink castle, I was very pleasantly surprised by the beauty of Midmar Castle and impressed not only by it’s history but that of it’s current owner, Tsumi’s Dad – but that’s another story. Driving up through the deer park to the castle itself where Tsumi and Rich had a marquee put up with a one clear wall to get a view of the castle from inside. As you would expect, a lot of the details of the day had a traditional Scottish theme but less expected was the under lying Australian theme; surf boards, flip-flops (I’d call them thongs but still seems wrong to me!) and the odd kangaroo in the trees (of course!) The evening was rounded off with a great ceilidh. Midmar Castle wedding photography.

Here are a few of my favourite images from the day.
