The last wedding of the year for me and it was the Notley Abbey wedding photography of Lucy and John. I love this shot of the two of them, it was right after the ceremony – and I mean ‘right after’ as I grabbed them just as they left the ceremony room so we could get a photo in the last bit of autumn light. It really was the last squeak of light left in the sky, the sun had set half an hour before this shot. It’s a testament to modern cameras that we can work in such low light situations and still get lovely colours and quality. But enough of the boring technical stuff – what I really like about this shot is that Lucy and John, like so many, are quite camera shy yet they were so happy (and a little relieved!) at this point, they just let me do my thing whilst they enjoyed the moment.
