St PAul’s Cathedral wedding Photography
It was a brilliantly, blustery, rainy, sunny May day for Maddie & Will. One minute the umbrellas would go up, the next minute it would be sunglasses on. On the boat trip from St Paul’s Cathedral to The Westminster Boating Base you could see stripes of rain and sun across the river Thames. The short journey up-river took in most of this year’s seasons.
The day started with Maddie and the girls south of the river. The usual morning of happy chaos, lots of chatter and the odd glass of Prosecco all mixed in with a few excited nerves. Maddie’s father may have been kept out until the absolute last minute but the wait was worth it, Maddie looked absolutely stunning.

Then jump into an Uber to head to St Paul’s Cathedral to go and meet up with the boys. Will was marshalling his ushers who were helping with the final preparations in the OBE Chapel. It’s always tricky to tell if a groom is nervous, especially if they are in organisational mode. I would have to say that Will was more excited than anything. This is one of so many things that make these two a perfect fit for each other – genuinely excited to get on and see each other again!
The OBE Chapel is set under the main cathedral and means guests get to walk through the main crypt past tombs of the great and good of British history. Sadly, photography in the Chapel is strictly regulated but we do get the chance to get photos inside the Cathedral itself as Maddie came in through the East Door. Same again on the way out with her new husband! A few photos on the steps and then a walk down to the river (dodging the showers) to catch a boat that will take us up to the Westminster Boating Base.

Incredible opportunity to see London from the river. Making the most of canapes and fizz out on deck when the skies were blue; getting huddled in and friendly when the showers passed over head. Then into the Westminster Boating Base for a reception overlooking the river and the meal and speeches. But most importantly of all, the party! A hugely emotional day set to a backdrop of some of the most incredible parts of the city.
