Hi, I’m Jim …

After I shot my first wedding, I swore blind I would never shoot another wedding ever again. Here I am, nearly 1000+ weddings later and loving it!
 
I picked up a camera when I was a teenager and the whole thing made sense to me. I spent a long time doing other things (I was “encouraged” by long suffering career advisors and parents to do other things from bar work to banking, scuba diving to cheffing) before eventually deciding that photography was what I wanted do.
 
I did lots of qualifications in photography only to realise that actually the best way of learning is just getting out there and doing. I worked in London assisting fashion and editorial photographers shooting portraits for magazines as well as putting together corporate brochures. When I moved out of town, I’ve concentrated more on weddings, people and rural photography. That’s where I’ve been for the last 15-20 years.
 
I love photographing people. It’s a real privilege for me to be able to do that. I photograph weddings, events, family portraits and a few other bits in between – creating lovely photographs, making people happy which makes me happy.
 
I live in Suffolk with my wife and three kids.
