Nether Winchendon spring wedding of Joy & Phil

Nether Winchendon spring wedding. Spring was trying, it really was. But it wasn’t quite there for Joy and Phil’s wedding at Nether Winchendon House. It was a blustery old day, a bit chilly, bit of rain and then, just when you thought it had settled in, the sun came out. It certainly kept us on our toes! The only thing that was brighter than the electric yellow daffodils was Joy and Phil’s hugely infectious enthusiasm for everything. They were absolutely brilliant and a real pleasure to be a part of their wedding day. I had first met them both on a gloriously sunny beach in Brighton for their engagement shoot. It was one of those engagement shoots I seemed to linger over, mainly so I could soak up the sunshine. I was hoping for the same on their wedding day but sadly I can only do so much for wedding planning! They might have nearly been swept off their feet as they walked through their confetti shot by the wind but it really had no effect on their positivity on the day.
Spring wedding at Nether Winchendon House
One of the great things about Nether Winchendon House is Georgianna’s generosity and welcoming spirit. She was not going to let a bit of poor weather disrupt the day and certainly not disrupt the photography. Even though we braved the gardens for a few shots, I was very glad for the open fires and historic backdrop of the house itself for a few interior photos. After our photo session, I left the happy couple to enjoy a glass of bubbly that had been kindly supplied. I thought for a minute that the comfy sofas might have got the better of them and it would be a while before we saw them again! Spring may not have sprung but this made for a perfect day.
