Tythe Barn Launton wedding photos. The Tythe Barn at Launton is simply stunning. Chilled county vibe wrapped in an elegant and superbly well managed barn and garden. It’s a little hidden gem which packs a huge punch. In every respect it was a fantastic choice for Emma and Tom as it was a perfect complement for their personalities. The day was planned with style at the top of their list of priorities with only one thing higher on their list – to have an absolute blast!

Now, “planning” is the key word here. The last couple of years have thrown everyone’s plans out the window in spectacular style. Emma & Tom’s wedding was one of the first that could realistically happen after the first UK lockdown thanks to the Covid pandemic. Plans shifted and rearranged; restrictions placed on church ceremonies, on parties, on the amount of people indoors vs outdoors. Everything changing week to week. None more so than both Emma and Tom coming in from Dubai and having to isolate beforehand. As if planning a wedding wasn’t tricky enough, doing it during a global pandemic certainly kept things interesting. But where they had to cut down on numbers and adhere to restrictions, the didn’t stint on quality and most importantly, having an absolutely belter of a day.

The day started with Emma’s preparations in the cottage next to the barn. A short walk through the barn to the church, a literal stone’s throw away, where the ceremony was to happen. Perfectly contained wedding venue which meant I could move around easily and photograph the day coming together. The church was opened up specifically for the ceremony, having not been opened since the start of the pandemic. Bespoke face masks and finger-stinging amounts of hand sanitiser were the order of the day.

The huge release of the ceremony was made even more emotional by the music of John Adams – who made the evening entertainment as brilliant as he made the ceremony powerful. A short walk to the barn for a reception in the glorious sunshine of the walled garden. After many months of anxiety, lockdown, isolation this was a huge sigh of relief and normality. The day went from strength to strength once the normality of normal chatter and catching up with friends sunk in. The speeches excelled themselves with a full room downing of drinks; beer pong challenge in the garden all rounded off with a first dance set up outdoors at dusk with an acoustic set by John. The party may have had to finish a little earlier than planned due to restrictions but it ended with a final party of sparklers and a lot of laughter. An incredible day for so many reasons but the most important reason of all was the joy this brilliant couple carry around with them.
