Here you’ll find a selection of weddings where couples have used a marquee or a tipi for their wedding.
A marquee wedding on the lawn on a summers day is the quintessential English wedding ideal. But there are so many locations for wedding marquees, so many different styles and suitable all year round. I’ve included marquee weddings here as well as tipi and raja tent weddings – basically anything under canvas! Wedding marquees are adaptable, can be put into most spaces, around garden beds and trees, wrapped around houses and even given clear sides so you can enjoy the view beyond their walls all day and evening long. A wedding marquee can be a simple, single room or designed and split into separate sections suitable for each section of the wedding, from the meal to a chill out room to a star-clothed dance floor.

Herefordshire wedding photography. Over to Kilpeck in Herefordshire last December for the winter wedding of Iona and Greg. Kilpeck Church is an impressive and ancient Norman church in a beautiful part of the country. It’s also one of the most welcoming parts of the world as was testament to Iona’s family who were nothing but warm and generous with their hospitality right from the start. The ceremony was late in the afternoon and, close to the shortest day of the year, meant that it was pretty dark when Iona turned up for the ceremony. It worked incredibly well as Hexie had gone above and beyond in the organisation and made sure that the path to the church was well lit and the church itself was full of candle light.

Suffolk marquee wedding photography. A short trip down the road for me to Assington Church for the wedding of Sophie and Wigs. And then onto their wedding reception at Sophie’s family home in Sudbury. Happiest of happy bride and groom, sunny day in the English countryside, lots of guests determined to enjoy themselves. For me Suffolk wedding photography doesn’t get much more enjoyable than this! Assington Church is a picture perfect English church, a lovely place for a wedding but I did have to do a double take as I was greeted by a curious llama on the way down the drive.
Lil’s father had worked hard to prepare the farm for the wedding. Word had even gone out to other farmers on the route to the church that golden crops should be planted. The grandeur and formality of a military wedding quickly gave way to the laid back Suffolk farm approach to celebrations.
