Here you’ll find a selection of weddings where couples have used a marquee or a tipi for their wedding.
A marquee wedding on the lawn on a summers day is the quintessential English wedding ideal. But there are so many locations for wedding marquees, so many different styles and suitable all year round. I’ve included marquee weddings here as well as tipi and raja tent weddings – basically anything under canvas! Wedding marquees are adaptable, can be put into most spaces, around garden beds and trees, wrapped around houses and even given clear sides so you can enjoy the view beyond their walls all day and evening long. A wedding marquee can be a simple, single room or designed and split into separate sections suitable for each section of the wedding, from the meal to a chill out room to a star-clothed dance floor.

When I was asked to photograph Tsumi and Rich’s wedding in Aberdeen, I spoke to the bride who recommended me and she said “yes, the big pink castle”. Oh, okay. Not sure if it was a wind up or not, I smiled politely and waited. Glorious summer sunshine greeted me at Aberdeen airport, I wasn’t expecting that. And although I was half expecting a big pink castle, I was very pleasantly surprised by the beauty of Midmar Castle and impressed not only by it’s history but that of it’s current owner, Tsumi’s Dad – but that’s another story.
