Dalhousie Castle wedding photography. Off to Dalhousie Castle in Scotland for the wedding of Alanna and Patrick. Both Alanna and Patrick along with family and friends had travelled over from the States for the wedding and were gifted with glorious weather (not what Scotland is known for but when it happens, it is the most beautiful country in the world – the rest of the time, it’s just a bit grey and rainy!) The weather did still keep us on our toes with the occasional bit of rain but not enough to ruin the day or stop us from wondering around the grounds for some stunning photo opportunities. One of the features of getting married at Dalhousie Castle is that your wedding rings are delivered mid-ceremony by an owl. There was a moment when I thought the owl wasn’t going to let go of the rings and the best man would have a battle on his hands (not a situation they cover in the wedding manual for best men) but after some gentle encouragement, the owl let go. There was a more traditional end to the evening with a ceilidh – the first few reels left most tied up in knots (quite literally) as they were all beginners. And I suspect, all too sober …well, it’s what whisky was really invented for, to help you dance better! Dalhousie Castle wedding photography.

Spot the odd one out – the one that isn’t particularly Scottish. Yes, that’s right, blue skies.
The room for the bridal preps was the darkest room I had been into.
The owl couldn’t stay too long as it was on it’s way to deliver a letter to Harry Potter.
There it is again, sunshine. I think they have secretly moved the castle south of the border!
