Botleys Mansion wedding photographer | Friederike + Simon

Botleys Mansion wedding photographer. This was always going to be a great wedding for me – Simon is an old friend and I’m happy to say, Friederike is now a new friend. Botleys Mansion is one of Bijou wedding venues stunning country houses, add in some sunshine and you have the perfect day. Also in the mix was a German bride (timings meticulously organised) and an Australian groom (“yeah, whatever mate, just go for it”): German wedding traditions of tapping the wine glasses throughout the meal until the bride and groom kiss and Australian wedding tradition of bringing a bottle of rum to the table.

Wedding photos at Botleys Mansion

The day started with a very civilised drinks reception before the ceremony outdoors. Followed by a very relaxing reception in the glorious sunshine – which actually left a few of the Aussies confused, I mean England in the sunshine, they weren’t expecting that! Whatever next, England winning the cricket? Here are a few of my favourite images from the day.

Bijou wedding venue

Botley’s Manson is one of a handful of stunning wedding venues owned and managed by Bijou weddings. It’s set in amongst rolling parkland and is lucky enough to enjoy the sunshine (when it shines!) all day long. Simon and Friederike had an outdoor wedding ceremony – in England, this means that the guests can sit outside but the bridge and groom must be under cover. Probably a bonus as Simon looked a little nervous beforehand and might have felt the pressure under the midday heat! A short walk from the back of the house to front meant that guests could spread comfortably around the mansion to enjoy the drinks reception. Everyone was lined up on the stairs for a large group photo whilst the couple stood on the gravel; this meant that after the formalities of the photo, they were in amongst a storm of confetti!

Botleys evening reception

Guests then made their way into the huge glass conservatory for the evening meal. After the speeches, the side walls of the main room were opened up for the dancing and the bar. Botleys Mansion wedding photographer.
