Hengrave winter wedding

Luxury Suffolk wedding day

Hengrave winter wedding.  Perfect winters day for a perfect Hengrave winter wedding. Impeccably organised and well-planned day for V&T’s wedding. The day built up gently from the eager excitement of the morning preparations to the massive party at the end of the evening and everything in between.

Winter wedding photos at Hengrave

It was one of those winter days where you could almost be outside all day. Almost! The day started with crisp, clear sunshine. The girls were settled in the Queen Elizabeth Chamber whilst the boys were at the other end of the corridor in the “boys only’ Blue Chamber. It’s a little thing but this makes it ideal for me to be able hop between the two rooms fairly effortlessly. Although the excitement was tangible, it was a very relaxed morning. The ceremony was held in the chapel, a short walk from the front door. Golden sunshine streaming in through the chapel windows, a quartet and choir made for an incredible service. Then out into the sun for confetti and a large group photo in front of the hall.

As the guests made their way inside for the reception, we made the most of the opportunity to get some couple portraits. Videoing the day was the ever capable and experienced Steve Hood, someone who knows Hengrave well. Normally with a winter wedding, this would be a bit of a quick process but we were lucky enough to be able to take our time. Then it was back into the wood panelled rooms for the drinks reception and family photos.

Wedding casino and sparklers

After the meal, always brilliantly caterer for by Milsoms, we had lively and emotional speeches. If the timings are right, there’s always a bit of time between the end of the meal. To make the most of this, a casino had been set up in one of the rooms and it gave the boys a chance to smoke (or cough!) their way through some cigars in the courtyard. Then outside onto the west terrace for some sparklers. This was all the build up for the first dance and the party band. I was there until the party looked like it was settling into a new gear with quite a few rounds of shots being bought at the bar. A few more photos before things got incriminating!

A big thank you has to go to the ushers and MC who did a sterling job of keeping everything on time and rounding guests up when needed. This kind of thing can make or break wedding timings and these guys did an exemplary job!
