Electric Picture Palace wedding

Electric Picture Palace wedding. E & R’s wedding at The Electric Picture Palace in Southwold was simply superb. It was a proper rollercoaster of emotions, from the nerves in the morning to huge joy of the afternoon. All of it underlined with roaring laughter! There had been quite a few hurdles to overcome to get to this point, none less so than the fact we were coming out of a global pandemic. It feels odd looking back at the monogrammed face masks and edginess we all felt before getting too close to others, something we got used to very quickly. We had a little drizzle as well, threatening to open the skies up. Thankfully, it just stayed as short burst. We even had a very keen bus driver who took the corners and hit the puddles at pace – exciting in parts, a little nerve racking in other parts.

Southwold beach wedding

We started the preparations at The Anchor in Walberswick. Two separate rooms on opposite sides of the garden. Which meant it was only fitting to have their first look there. If emotions were running high during the preparations, they went through the roof for everyone when E+R saw each other for the first time. After a joyous and hilarious ceremony, it was off to the canons on the green overlooking the sea, a spot that means a lot to them, for photos and tin of Pimms. A short walk down to the beach itself and a race along the open beach to see who could make it into the sea first. The final leg of the journey was being rowed across the river back to Walberswick for pints and oysters. I left them settling into a lively meal and speeches at the pub and I left feeling that the world had become just a little bit more of a better and happier place.
