The buzz of the day started with the preparations in the house. The bride and her team upstairs and the boys in the snooker room downstairs. Excitement all around was palpable. We then had a short walk down to the church by the lake for the wedding ceremony. Marishka made quite an entrance with her open top Beetle. The church is ancient and intimate, very little room making it all the more intimate.

After the ceremony, one of my favourite moments, is the confetti walk across the bridge into their new married life. Before heading back to the house and gardens for the wedding reception. Orchardleigh has been the backdrop to many romantic films and TV shows and you can see why. It is simply incredible. A historic building steeped in tradition. Glorious gardens for a day of drinking champagne in the sun.

Then into the wood panelled rooms for the wedding breakfast followed by a swift turn around for the evening’s entertainment.I can’t begin to tell you how excited and nervous Marishka was at this point. I thought she was going to pop! But still managed to look absolutely gorgeous. You know when a father of the bride’s speech starts with a history of her daughter from conception onwards, it’s either going to be a belting speech or a complete disaster.
