Ravens Ait wedding photographer | Debi & Ian

Ravens Ait wedding photographer. This was my first time at Ravens Ait wedding venue. Astunning location set on an island in the middle of the Thames. Made all the better by one of the very few gloriously sunny days we’ve had this year. Whoever was in charge of organising the weather deserves a medal! Debi and Ian’s wedding itself was in The Brompton Oratory, one of the grandest and most beautiful churches in London. Impressive and daunting at the same time. The vestry where the registers were signed is bigger than most churches I shoot weddings in.

Two red London double decker buses took the guests from town down to the river and then a short boat trip across the river to the island. Incredibly the reception was bathed in blistering sunshine.

Lots of champagne and canapés, what else could you ask for? Well, the quirky and hilarious sounds of The Cosmic Sausages superbly funny and entertaining band and not shy about getting involved in the day! Debi and Ian had a brief spin around the island in an Edwardian launch before heading into the evening meal. A huge amount of effort had gone into the details for the marquee and it looked fantastic with pink and purple lanterns. Here are a few of my favourite images from the day.

  • I just love the simplicity of a couple of the portraits. The groom and the groomsmen near the start – simple, uncluttered, symmetrical composition. Just brilliant. And the portrait of the bride, centre of the frame, a bit of flare, wearing a beautiful expression. Fantastic image showing a woman who’s having the best day of her life. Two images I wish I’d shot.
