Rustic wedding photography of Ellie & Jon. Phew! What an incredible day!
Rustic wedding photography. When I met up Jon and Ellie to talk through their wedding, they were full of ideas and plans. Having been involved in weddings for over 20 years now, I always nod politely knowing that if a couple can put together about 50% of their wedding ideas, they’re going to have an incredible day. But wedding planning and organisation is a full time job in itself and certain ideas get shelved in favour of more practical solutions. Especially if you are like Ellie and Jon where you planned to do so much of the day yourself.
Rustic wedding inspiration
“Well, we thought we’d have a marquee in a field. We’ll get married in the nearby church and walk through several wheat fields to the marquee for the drinks reception and party”. Sounds fantastic, love it. I quietly muttered something about a Plan B in case of rain but was told it was going to be a sunny day. Every detail from the day had been built, made, brewed, constructed by Jon and Ellie and organised and delegated into place by a willing (ish) group of family members, ushers and bridesmaids. The one detail they couldn’t plan was the weather – but the weather gods were smiling on them, beautiful warm sunshine, making this one of those perfect English summer’s days.
Shabby chiq wedding day
As I say, if you can get about 50% of your initial plans in place by the wedding, you’ll have an incredible day. I think Jon and Ellie achieved the impossible and pretty much managed 100% – testament to an incredible couple & an incredible day.
Home brewed Matrimonial Ale or Rhubarb Liquor anyone? Rustic wedding photography
What an incredible day with such an awesome fanfair of an ending. Gotta love that Landie! And you might have seen a few familiar faces at this wedding from Jon’s sister’s wedding recently.
