Suffolk winter wedding. What a brilliant, blustery and bright winter’s day! When you plan a wedding in January, you hope for weather like this. Well, not the blustery bit so much, perhaps, but certainly everything else. Usually you can rely on winter weather to be a bit ordinary but you always hope for something exceptional.

E&J were married in Edwardstone Church, a short drive away from the reception. It’s a glorious church, beautiful in the low winter sunshine and stunning winter flower arrangements. Walking out of the church mid-afternoon, the sun was hugging the horizon. Long, winter shadows mixed in with an enthusiastic wind made for a lively wedding veil. As well as some lively confetti throwing.
Winter wedding marquee
Back to E’s house for the wedding reception and greeted by deep red sunset. A few formal photos in the house (watched on by confused dogs wondering what all these people were doing in their house). Formalities done, it was into the marquee for drinks and canapés and a lot of very lively chatter. Followed by the meal and speeches. I did feel there was a bit of anxiety about the first dance but once the happy couple were on the dance floor, that all went out the window. The dance floor didn’t stop, it was a busy night.
