Shepherd’s Cottage is an absolute little gem of a wedding venue. This 18th century thatched cottage is nestled on the edge of a medieval woodland. It sits on a small hill overlooking lakes and farmlands beyond. The cottage is the idyllic Suffolk countryside venue for a small wedding. And it was the perfect spot for Lexi and Matti’s intimate and relaxed wedding day.

Matti was anxious to make sure the day was perfect. He had planned so much to make sure that the day was magical. Lexi was just fizzing with excitement. She arrived in the horse drawn carriage that Matti had organised as a surprise. Lexi was beaming, grinning from ear to ear. She also looked absolutely stunning. This was going to be sublime day.

After an emotional ceremony, it was drinks on the lawn outside the cottage. We then had an opportunity to go for a walk through the ferns and woods for some photos before heading down to the lake for a few more. The day was simplicity itself and that’s what made it so good.

Special mention has to go the Suffolk Registrars who did their usual fantastic job. It is always a pleasure to work with them, they are professional yet always willing to invest themselves emotionally in the day. I know you rarely get a choice when it comes to this kind of thing but it is always reassuring to know that you are in good hands.
