Jim is truly a very talented photographer, highly professional and easy to work with, and without any hesitation we would recommend him to anyone.

Wilderness Reserve civil ceremony

Sibton Park wedding photography. Sibton Park is one of many exclusive country houses and cottages set in amongst 5000 acres of beautiful Suffolk countryside. It is truly spectacular. A superbly proportioned and spacious Georgian country house, it’s grandeur matched only by it’s relaxed informality.

Shruti & Chris’s winter wedding at Sibton Park started with a civil ceremony in the main drawing room. This was the start of day three of celebrations. One of great luxuries of having a wedding at The Wilderness Reserve is the option to use some or all of the cottages and farmhouses around the grounds for a long weekend. Celebrations started on the Thursday evening with close family and a birthday party for Shruti’s grand dad. The Friday was a drinks party for all the arriving guests in the Walled Garden. It’s great to be able to catch up with friends and know that you won’t miss out on anyone during the reception itself.

The morning of the celebrations started with the legal bit in front of immediate family. And the first of many incredibly emotional moments of the day. You know that even when the Suffolk Registrars are getting emotional that it’s a good day.

We were incredibly lucky with the weather on the previous days but it looks like our luck ran out. Gale force winds were forecast and they weren’t wrong. The forecast turned into a weather warning and it felt like time to batten down the hatches and stay indoors. Not for Shruti and Chris though, these two love adventure and this was barely a blip in their plans. After the ceremony, Chris lead a long walk around the grounds whilst Shruti started her preparations.

The day was a family affair in every respect, everyone mucking in from moping floors to putting together wedding details. The house was full of busy-ness and noise, lots of excitement and fuss. Shruti looked stunning from the start of the day and incredible when the dress went on. Her father’s look when her first saw her was priceless! Chris seemed incredibly calm, thoroughly enjoying the process. A few nerves crept in when he was standing at the top of the aisle in the Orangery, not that he’d admit that!

The ceremony was taken by a close family member with other close family helping out with readings. A powerful commitment and when they walked back down the aisle it felt like the room had exploded with sheer joy from everyone. With the gale starting to build, there was just enough time for a large group shot of all the guests on the front drive before heading indoors for the rest of the evening.

The party spread out through the house before moving back into the Orangery for the meal and speeches. Testament to their brilliance when I suggested that we head out into the bleak weather for a quick rainy evening photo, they didn’t even blink. Back into the main house for the room to be turned around for full on party mode. Tequila shots and lots of dancing. This was one party that wasn’t going to slow down in a hurry!
