Wedding photography Woodhall Manor. This really was a day of two halves. It started off with everything you could hope for from a summer’s day; warm, sunny with fantastic blue skies. The chairs were set out on the lawn for an outdoor ceremony, the day looked perfect. I could feel a little bit of a breeze but nothing that anyone took notice of. Maybe the odd greyer cloud on the horizon but nothing to give us the impression that we were going to have anything other than a balmy summer’s day. Even the ever cautious registrars gave the outdoor ceremony the thumbs up – they talked about the forecast being for rain but the forecast is always way off. Right?Wedding photography Woodhall Manor
I headed over to the garden courtyard with the boys to get set for the ceremony and that’s when the first little drops of rain fell. Nothing much. Barely noticed them. But enough for a few people to start looking nervously towards the skies. We all brushed it off loudly saying “nah”, we’ll be alright. Knowing full well that if the registrars said that there was going to be rain, we’d have to uproot pretty smartish and move indoors. We’d be fine, well, till at least after the ceremony.

Sara walked down the petal strewn aisle looking graceful and elegant and completely unphased by the grey clouds over head that were turning darker and darker. I don’t know if it was a portent or just unlucky timing but those clouds decided to start to rumble just as Sara was asked to say her vows. And then the heavens opened! A few brave guests pulled up umbrellas and stayed for a while but it wasn’t long before the rain got the better of them and everyone headed for cover.
This didn’t bother Sara or Stuart. And I’ve never seen a groom beam with pride as much as Stuart, all day long, whatever the day threw at him. Incredible couple and a fantastic day!
