Botleys Mansion wedding. Early September and my favourite time of year for weddings. A perfect day for V&L’s wedding and you couldn’t really ask for a more ideal wedding venue than Botleys Mansion. Surrounded in open park land, it has that picture perfect, period drama feel to the place. V and the ladies got ready at the mansion before they were whisked away to the Royal Holloway for the wedding ceremony.

Royal Holloway is not only an incredible bit of architecture with one of the most impressive chapels you are likely to see but it was also where these two got together. A superb spot for a wedding ceremony for so many reasons. L gave off the air of quiet confidence whilst waiting at the top of the aisle but after many years of photographing weddings, you know only too well he was keeping a lid on his nerves! A beautiful ceremony was followed by a few photos in quad before jumping on a big, red double decker bus and heading back to Botleys.

Time for the wedding reception where guests made the most of the house and the lawns out the front. Then the grand entrance for V&L down those magnificent stairs into their wedding breakfast. After the meal, it was still light and warm enough for guests to enjoy a mini evening reception whist the conservatory was turned around for the band and the evening’s entertainment. It’s a spectacular sight and not one I’ve seen too often at Botleys but certainly well worth the effort. Good to see that the standard of the evening’s dancing matched the occasion!
