Bruisyard wedding photography. Bruisyard Hall always looks stunning but none more so than on a sunny, picture perfect early summer’s day. It’s one of my favourite venues for bridal preparations as the bridal suite is big and full of lovely light. Lots of soft flattering light flooding in. Upstairs in the attic room, the boys were getting ready. (Well, attic bar …I’m not sure a bar and boys preparations are a safe combo!).

The marriage ceremony itself was held in the nearby St Andrews Church, Little Glemham, a charming and quintessentially English church tucked away in the countryside. An Honour Guard from The Royal Lancers flanked the church door and made for an impressive welcome for the guests. Equally so on the way out for the bride and groom. The military presence was evident earlier in the day as the ushers were doing circuits on the lawn before being tasked with wedding duties for the day. I always have a rye smile when I see the Army’s finest trying to compute the best way to hang bunting!
Suffolk summer wedding
After the ceremony, it was back to Bruisyard for a drinks reception on the lawn. Nothing finer than champagne, friends & family and a stunning summer’s day. We always have a Plan B for weddings, just in case it rains, but there was absolutely no need for that this time. The reception was followed by a short stroll to the barn for the wedding breakfast and some pretty emotional speeches. Although, I’m still a little curious about the house brick as a wedding present – it had a lovely green bow on it though! The groom may have the exterior of a stolidly efficient soldier but it belied a pretty emotion centre.
Not a dry eye in the house and that was before the bride and bridesmaid got up to speak. It was good to see the best man, a familiar guest from another wedding I had photographed in France, bring the emotional level to a manageable level in true best man speech style. The day was crowned brilliantly by another stunning Suffolk sunset. A perfect end to a pretty perfect day!
