Fanhams Hall Hotel wedding

Fanhams Hall Hotel wedding. There was a Japanese influence for Hannah and Ross’s Fanhams Hall Hotel wedding. Fanhams Hall offers the option of an outdoor ceremony in front of their Japanese Tea House in their gardens. Thankfully the weather not only behaved itself but was gloriously sunny, perfect for this wedding. It was that time of year when the leaves are just starting to turn and there were a few golden and yellowy colours amongst the trees, creating a stunning backdrop for both the ceremony and the for a few photos of just Hannah and Ross later in the day. As a wedding photographer, I’m heavily in work mode as the bride walks up to the start of her ceremony, I’m concentrating on making sure I’m getting the shots I need as well as not being a feature of the process. But the walk down from Fanhams Hall Hotel, through the arcade of vines and then out in the sunshine to walk up the aisle, I couldn’t help but be a little caught up in the moment.

I can only imagine that it must be something quite daunting but a little magical at the same time. One of the many bonuses of an outdoor ceremony is that you can get as carried away as you like with the confetti afterwards and they really had to walk through a storm of confetti. The reception was held in the Pavillion in the hotel which is wonderfully bright and sunny all day long, creating an easy and relaxed feel to the afternoon. As expected of such a wonderful couple, the speeches were heartfelt and emotional, always a good sign of the strength of their relationship and as individual characters. Here are few of my favourite images from the day.

What a lovely image. I love the reflection in the lake
The reflection of the bride in the mirror – quite lovely.
