Brecon Beacons wedding photography

We can’t thank you enough for coming to photograph our wedding - you were a huge hit amongst our family, friends and all the children! Thank you! You were perfect in every way and you photographed so subtly and everyone was very complimentary that you were so polite too.

Brecon Beacons wedding photography. The Brecon Beacons is a truly magically bit of the country. Full of ancient mystery and gloriously powerful landscapes. There’s a standing joke about this part of world: if you can see the hills, it’s about to rain; if you can’t see the hills, it’s raining. Even in mid-summer, you can expect dark, looming clouds so low to the hills, you can reach up and squeeze the rain out of them.

I was looking forward to this wedding. I had a brilliant talk with Scarlett and Louis before the wedding itself and I knew these were two superb characters who were determined to have an amazing day. The planning was spot on making sure that everyone had an absolute blast.

I was also looking forward to this as things like hills and mountains are a novelty for me, we don’t get many of them in Suffolk. Being on the other side of the border, the pandemic restrictions were a little different to England. Whereas in England, most of the restrictions around weddings had been lifted, there were still a few in Wales. One of the restrictions was limited numbers in the congregation. Even though the ceremony was in the magnificent Brecon Cathedral, a few guests had to stay outside. They made up for missing the ceremony by having an impromptu confetti line waiting for Scarlett and Louis when they came out!

Brecon Beacons marquee wedding

Off back to the farm for the wedding reception and the magnificent floral display. A glamping site had been set up in one of the fields and an open-sided marquee was on the top lawn. The drinks reception nearly headed inside the marquee when a threat of rain – did I mention the rain in Wales? Thankfully, only a quick drizzle. Afternoon reception done, everyone had a couple of hours to rest and recover before the evening celebrations. A few speeches which were brilliantly close to the edge but no more; a fantastic meal and then into a busy and energetic dancefloor.
