Caroline & Stephen’s Hengrave wedding

Hengrave wedding. Time for a little bit of glorious summer joy in the shape of Caroline and Stephen’s Hengrave wedding. Hengrave Hall is an incredible backdrop for any wedding. From the moment you see it nestled in at the bottom of the long drive, you get that absolute ‘wow’ kick. It’s a stunning space for a wedding. From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel at home. The grandeur and elegance is complemented with easy and efficient hospitality. From the moment you step through the main door, you know it’s going to be a good day!

You’re not likely to meet two more lovely people than Caroline and Stephen. Full of warmth and laughter. There was a slight edge of determination about the morning’s preparations but I think the cake topper with the word “finally” might have been the reason for that! These two were going to have a blast and they were going to do it style. It was important for these two to get things right but there were no airs and graces about it all, the emphasis was on having a great day.

Testament to these two great characters is the strength of family they have around them. None more so than their parents who have obviously been a solid and loving influence in their lives. It’s always a pleasure to meet and talk with so many good people at a wedding. The real issue is that I have to remind myself that I need to be working as well. I could quite happily have spent the day chatting and listening, as much for the stories but more for the sheer joy of spending time with good people. It’s a privilege to see the connections couples have with their loved ones and to be a part of recording that for posterity.

Sunny wedding reception

The day started with the preparations, boys in the boys room looking confused by the buttonholes and the girls in the bridal suite. Separated by a short corridor but worlds apart! A short walk to the chapel for the ceremony which always looks impressive but none more so with the summer sun shining through the huge windows. Emotions were brimming over before the ceremony but you could see the relief and happiness they both had as they stood at the altar. The tension broken, it was out onto the terrace for the drinks reception and a lot of laughter. Golden sunshine blazed throughout the day and meant that there was an opportunity long after the meal to sit and enjoy the summer’s day before the evening settled in. So many moments to treasure throughout the day for this incredible couple and their brilliant guests. Hengrave wedding.
