Ramster Hall wedding of Nadia & Will

Ramster Hall wedding. I always knew this wedding was going to be a blast but it went beyond even my expectations! So much energy right from the start of the day and it only built and built to end with a heaving dance floor. Perfect late summer’s day with glorious sunshine and the stunning venue of Ramster Hall, what else could you need? How about a collection of some fantastic family and friends, incredible food and a lot of interesting drinks. I suspect the interesting drinks might have been the fuel for the late night dance floor energy but who is going to turn down a cocktail made in a fresh coconut or a toast with a Persian liquor?

Ramster bridal preparations

The girls were getting ready at Lythe Hill and I could hear the laughter from their room as I pulled up into the car park. Normally I have to ask for directions for where the bride is getting ready but no need today. Plenty of happy chaos, laughter and genuine excitement. Then it was over to Ramster Hall to meet the boys and the guests arriving. Will looked very dapper and quietly confident, not a sign of nerves at all.

You couldn’t have asked for a better day weather wise, it was absolutely gorgeous. The Hall is an absolute gem in the sunshine, lush gardens and beautiful surroundings. It’s wood panelled rooms have an elegant grandeur whilst feeling homely and welcoming. After the ceremony, it was out into the court yard for an afternoon sparkler session (a first for me) and a chance to make the most of cocktails and sunshine.

The meal and the speeches get a special mention. It was a true show of the hospitality that these families love to show, the kindness and love they have for each other and the fantastic sense of humour that holds it all together. Everyone got have a say. Everyone got to toast each speech with a pokey looking liquor. If guests weren’t feeling wobbly after that, they were greeted with a coconut stand as they went out into the courtyard afterwards. It was mesmerising watching coconuts get peeled and spliced by a machete and then mixed with some pretty hefty cocktails. Those queuing for the stand were upright and well behaved; those who had left the stand were a little wobblier with much bigger smiles!

Heavy metal dance floor

The signs were there all day. Table names of heavy metal bands, the skull icing on the cake, the skulls on the brides Converses. The dancing started as you would expect, excellent wedding band getting all generations up and dancing. But when the DJ came on, the volume went up a few notches as did the energy. Heavy metal was most definitely the order of the night. All ages, no mercy. What an incredible day and what an incredible couple!
