Suffolk engagement shoot

Suffolk engagement shoot. We’re four days into the official start of spring and I don’t think I’ve been this cold. Minus 2 degrees C, gale warning and snow lying thick on the ground – perfect conditions to hit the beach for a photo shoot! We planned this day a while back and naturally assumed that the weather would be at worst a bit cold and grey for this time of year but maybe even a little sunny with the early promise of warmth. Oh no. I have to thank Kirsten and Jamie for being such great sports in going for it and braving the worst of the weather.

Minus 2 is cold – minus 2 with a strong on shore wind is blummin’ freezing. Add into the equation someone asking you to smile and act natural, I think they did fantastically well. Needless to say, a large portion of the shoot was spent nursing a warm cuppa in the cafe discussing wedding plans. A Suffolk engagement shoot in Southwold would normally involve a romantic stroll along the beach, using the colours of the famous beach huts, perhaps with a bit of late afternoon sunshine glistening off the paint. We choose spots were the wind didn’t want to pick us up and take us out to sea. I’m assuming the weather will be better for their wedding in June!
